Acquisition of “Halal certification” for GLYLOID®
DSP GOKYO FOOD & CHEMICAL Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has acquired “Halal Certification” for our original polysaccharide, GLYLOID® (Tamarind seed gum), from Japan Muslim Association under the judgment of Shariah Research Institute of Takushoku University.
HALAL certification is a certification given to food, cosmetics and medicines produced in accordance with the tenets of Islam, using safe and clean processes. The certification shows that products certified are safe for use by Muslims.
Since 1964 when we launched GLYLOID® in Japan, it has been used in a wide variety of food products such as sauces, dressings and ice cream in Asia as well as North America.
The acquisition of HALAL certification is expected to further expand the potential of GLYLOID® in the Halal markets including Indonesia and Malaysia.
